DSR stands for “Dynamic Spin Release”. It is a new field developed by Tim and Kris Hallbom at the NLP Institute of California. It is useful in overcoming habits, critical voices, limiting beliefs, negative emotions, unconscious conflicts, stress, and many, many more symptoms. It uses Jungian psychology and the spinning to create powerful and lasting changes in people’s lives.
For example, a friend of mine came to me one day really weighed down with some negative emotions and she didn’t know what was causing them. I had her pull the emotions out and place them ten feet away across the room floating as a symbol or representation. “It’s a red pulsing sphere” she said. I asked her which way it was spinning. “Counter-clockwise” she said. I had her spin the red sphere clockwise really fast until the sphere exploded. A gift appeared in it’s place. “The gift is a white feather” she said, “that represents peace and health”. We brought the gift back into her body, and she felt remarkably different.
Dynamic Spin Release is a fantastic field that draws upon physics, psychology, chaos theory, NLP, and many other disciplines. There are dozens of Dynamic Spin Release techniques, and they are fascinating and interesting to explore.
The most basic Dynamic Spin Release technique, named “Discovering the Gift”, takes only about seven minutes, and many practitioners do this technique on just about everything. Why not? The worst thing that could happen is that you waist seven minutes, but many times there is remarkable improvement or the person can often completely reach the goal with this seven minute process.
Dynamic Spin Release will likely evolve, in my opinion, into a field as wide and deep as NLP itself, with perhaps hundreds of processes and training institutes around the world will sponser the training. The field is really in it’s beginning stages, and Bob plans on doing a two day Dynamic Spin Release training in Boise, Idaho in the next three years with the mentoring of Tim and Kris Hallbom, the developers of Dynamic Spin Release. Contact Bob if you’re interested in knowing more.
DSR is an example of what is possible in the realm of personal change. It came about one day when Kris Hallbom came to her husband Tim with a headache. Spinning had only really been done through some work from Richard Bandler, one of the founders of NLP (a brilliant man). Tim had Kris pull the sensations of the headache out of her head. Kris said, “It’s a pink brain that is spinning counterclockwise”. In an instance of brilliance, but without a lot of thought, Tim said, “Spin it clockwise until it disappears”. Kris did and her headache disappeared immediately. Tim and Kris began spinning things with their clients in their coaching practices with really interesting results, and DSR was born.
There’s a deep, powerful feeling that goes along with DSR processes. You can tell something powerful is happening when you use the processes. It will be very interesting to see where it goes in the next five or ten years. It makes you wonder what else is possible in the area of personal change, and what other new fields will be discovered as fields such as NLP become more popular. These new discoveries are bound to eventually effect areas of science and psychology such as medicine, physics, personal change, sports psychology, and even religion.
Bob is a DSR coach in Boise Idaho that also does phone work. DSR and NLP go hand in hand. Bob is going to provide a DSR training in Boise around 2013, teaching many of the DSR processes in a two day DSR training through Bob Weikel Associates. Bob is one of the few DSR coach consultants in the world, and he’s been an active DSR coach for about a year now. DSR and NLP are two of Bob’s passions. DSR and NLP really work well together, and Bob enjoys providing NLP and DSR trainings to the community. A two day DSR training brings participants to be able to make changes that can seem almost magical at times.
